Short Data FAQ


Date – Date of TRF Reported volumes

Stock – The ticker symbol for a listed security

Short – The aggregate reported short volume during REGULAR trading hours. This is composed of the exempt volume, Do Not Count separately.

Exempt – Read REG SHO RULE 200 which requires broker dealers to mark sell orders as “long, short, short-exempt.” This is counted in the “short” volume Please read to understand the importance.

TRF VOL – TRF Reported Regular Volume

EOD VOL – Third Party Data Provider reported End Of Day Volume – Not responsible for accuracy – Not available for all securities such as warrants, etns, etfs

Potentially – If short volume is greater than 50% of TRF Vol mark as bearish otherwise bullish.

Rank – Assigned to security based on highest to lowest short volume.

yrank – Yesterday’s Assigned rank based on highest to lowest short volume. Some securities do not have this rank available when there were no entries the previous day.

Open – Third party data provider reported OPEN – Not responsible for accuracy – Not available for all securities such as warrants, etns, etfs

High – Third party data provider reported High of Day – Not responsible for accuracy – Not available for all securities such as warrants, etns, etfs

Low – Third party data provider reported Low of Day – Not responsible for accuracy – Not available for all securities such as warrants, etns, etfs

Close – Third party data provider reported Close – Not responsible for accuracy – Not available for all securities such as warrants, etns, etfs
